How it works
How No-Scalpel Vasectomy Works
No-scalpel vasectomy uses a special instrument to make one tiny puncture instead of two cuts. The doctor locates tubes under the skin, clamps them gently, then stretches the small opening to reach both tubes. They’re blocked using heat cauterization, eliminating the need for stitches and significantly reducing pain.
Before Vasectomy
To understand what happens during a No-Scalpel Vasectomy procedure, review this diagram to see how the male anatomy normally functions. The testicles produce sperm that travel through a pair of tubes called the Vasa Deferens. You can easily feel them through the scrotal skin, like firm spaghetti-sized tubes on either side of the penis. These tubes carry sperm from the testicles out through the penis when a man ejaculates.
After Vasectomy
The vasectomy procedure simply interrupts the flow of sperm by cutting the sperm tubes and blocking their ends. Before making the decision to have your NSV, please review the preparations, procedure, and recovery to see what you can expect from Dr. Tang and your NSV from start to finish. We want you to make a careful and well informed choice. A vasectomy should be considered a permanent contraception.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my hormone levels or sexual performance change after vasectomy?
No, vasectomy doesn’t affect testosterone production or sexual function. The tubes that carry sperm are separate from hormone-producing areas, so your libido, erections, and ejaculation remain completely normal.
How long after vasectomy can I have unprotected sex?
You must wait 8-16 weeks and provide two clear semen samples before being declared sterile. Some sperm remain in your system after the procedure, so continue using contraception until clearance is confirmed.
Can I lift weights or exercise after the procedure?
Avoid heavy lifting (over 10kg) and strenuous exercise for one week. Light walking is encouraged from day one. You can gradually return to your normal workout routine after the first week.
What happens to sperm production after vasectomy?
Your body continues producing sperm, but they’re naturally absorbed by your immune system. This process is completely harmless and occurs automatically without any intervention needed.
Will anyone be able to tell I've had a vasectomy?
No visible scars remain due to our no-scalpel technique. The tiny puncture heals completely within days, leaving no trace of the procedure. Even intimate partners typically cannot detect any difference.
Can I have the procedure if I'm taking blood thinners?
Most blood-thinning medications don’t prevent vasectomy, but we’ll review your specific medications during your telehealth consultation to ensure your safety and optimal healing.
What if I develop complications or have concerns after the procedure?
We provide a 7-day support hotline for any questions or concerns during recovery. Complications are rare with our technique, but we’re always available to ensure your peace of mind.
How much semen volume will change after vasectomy?
Sperm accounts for only 2-3% of semen volume. You’ll notice no difference in ejaculation volume or sensation, as seminal fluid production continues normally from other glands.
Can I have a vasectomy if I've had previous groin surgery?
Previous hernia repairs or other groin surgeries usually don’t prevent vasectomy. Our doctors will assess your individual situation during consultation to ensure the procedure is safe for you.
What makes your no-scalpel technique different from laser vasectomy?
Our no-scalpel method uses precision instruments rather than lasers, providing better control and less tissue damage. This results in faster healing and fewer complications compared to both laser and traditional scalpel methods.
